I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I swear, I'm confused about what the point of Pilates is. I've been to two classes so far and both have seemed like countless variations on an hour of situps. I have yet to understand what the goal I am working towards is, or how it will help me with my fitness -- it's not cardiovascular, it's not challenging my flexibility, and I can't figure out if it's improving my strength. I have a regular yoga practice that i enjoy, which is challenging, and I both run a little and walk a lot. I'm basically choosing whether to spend an extra hour a week doing Pilates, or doing strength training. Why choose Pilates? what am I missing?
