Hmmm - don't seem to find 5-21 through 5-27, I must not have made a thread for that, sorry.

Peggi I just finished putting my calendar together for the summer and I am glad to say I am only doing 3 full weeks of organized professional development, I will also be putting in about 4 weeks of personal professional development developing my lesson plans and new stratagies for next year but that is on my own time and not quite so intrusive as these things I have to show up for and participate in. I also have 3 weeks scheduled for my cabin and 2.5 weeks for a camping trip with a week at a house on the oregon shore, so that should be nice. I am also teaching (i think) an online course for other math teachers all of july and august. And I scheduled in 3 full weeks of household projects, planting concrete pavers, pruning, painting, etc...stuff that has been building up for a couple of years.

Anyway, enough chit chat, I put in 84,179 steps for 12,025 per day. Not my goal, but not bad for finishing up the year, getting the room set up for cleaning and painting, putting everything away etc.

Hope all of you were more successful in meeting your goals.

Hi Brian, I just made my goal ended up with 110615 for an average of 15802 per day. We've had a week or two of rain here, so it was hard getting outside for a while. Today was absolutely perfect. Sounds like you have a very full summer coming up. When are you done teaching for this year? 3 weeks for your cabin should be nice Brian. I wish I remembered how to relax, am having trouble with that. Ever since buying the new house and then being so sick last summer, its like I don't want to sit still and am in constant motion. Need to relearn how to unwind, I haven't been down to our camp since spring of 2004 now..Take care, have a great week.

Well 3 weeks at the cabin are spread out through mid july, I finished school yesterday, am sitting in the cabin right now, will go home tomorrow, do some errands on tuesday (dentist, meeting with text book co, etc) and come back tuesday eveing till friday afternoon, home for chores on saturday and off to state book adoption committee meeting sunday...etc. anyway will sandwich in 2 more 7 day stints here with my wife joining me on the weekends.

what's the point of having a cabin if you don't go sit and decompress? It isn't that I remember how to relax, it is that I go sit somewhere where my normal routines are totally off base and undoable - true here I get on line, etc, but I also have to haul water, cut wood, and mostly just sit, read, do puzzles, think and let the crap wash out of the mind, I also go for 3 or 5 mile walks at least once a day, dig and lay rock for my patio/firepit area, etc. And if i just sit and read, not a problem, the work will get done next year. ;-}} it is not like I have to get it finished now. Some years I just sleep and read till I don't want to read or sleep anymore. Amazing how much better I feel after that!

Glad you made your goal. That is always satisfying I know, I am glad to seem my weekly totals going up again, I was getting discouraged where I was putting in 58 miles a week, i got down to the high 30's...really slacking but am back up into the 40's - of course, I don't have work anymore, so I really have to go for walks!
