I am not sure if any of your heard this today on the Jim Rome show, but I remember the original interview, and it was one of the things to convince me to get off my rear and start doing Triathlons.

Jim, grew up in a mobile home, but worked hard to get a football scholarship to Yale. He had a bright future in front of him, when he was hit by a NY city bus while riding his motorcycle. They thought he was dead and actually chalked his body. He entered into triathlon's as a way to motivate himself. While competing in the bike segment one day, he was struck again by a van, thrown into a sign and broke his neck. Please listen to his story:

Recently Jim has fallen on hard times as he had a freak accident while in his wheel chair on his front porch. Turns out that he broke his knee cap and has been unable to work. Emotionally, physically and financially he is not doing well. Please visit this site for more information and the link to the website of a friend of his. www.headnorth.org the link will be on this web site, and you can hear more about the Jim MacLaren's interview:

Jim MacLaren visited the guy who runs this site in the hospital and this not for profit organization helps athlete's with disabilities.

If you can skip a Mocha and contribute $5 or whatever, Anything can help to cheer Jim up and get him beyond this.

THANKS EVERYONE - I felt compelled to contribute and pass this on.

Jim
