Thanks for the support for my first trathlon. It was very small (half mile swim, 5.5 miles bike and 2.3 miles run, but I managed it and came first in my age group (56-60) mainly because no-one else was in that age group. My time was 1.12.50, but since I am a walker not a runner, I was very happy with it.Plus, I think I was the only swimmer doing some breaststroke and back stroke, and definitely the only cyclist with a wicker shopping basket on the front of my bike...
Thanks again |

Gabi,
that is so COOOOOOL. I just did my first one a couple of weeks ago, and came in second overall for women, of course 2d is a relative term and only describes the the number who came in before you. I was dead last, there was only one other woman in the race and she came in first over all the men. I am 46, we are just getting better!
It is good to start small and work your way up. That is a long swim BTW. I love the basket! You rock!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You are a TRIATHLETE!!!! Woooo Hooooo!!!
I agree, that is a long swim for a "small" race but don't worry about the other strokes. This past weekend, the fourth or fifth overall swimmer was doing some breast stroking and these were some hardcore folks racing.
Keep the BASKET...it can be your trademark. =) Great for storing some extra fluids and GU packets. It rocks!!! |
