You should be fine. As long as you are exercising and eating smart, you will probably see a "quick" loss to begin with. Plus, the weight may fluctuate a lot. Don't be surprised if you are back up to 212 later in the week. I fluctuate between 2 or 3 pounds even when I weigh the same time everyday, eat the same way, and workout the same. Just keep an eye on it and give it a little longer than 3 days before you start to become concerned. That is why this site is so great. You can log the results and analyze it over time.

Hi! I second what Jim says. I don't have a goal weight but a goal range (because I've never weighed the same for more than a day!). Also, weight is only a number that doesn't always accurately represent the complexities of our bodies. Water (and lack of it), food (and lack of it), muscle building, exercise, menstrual cycles, stress, movement and so on all affect weight. Track your progress over time (days, weeks and months) to get a clear picture. If other things start declining, then it may be time to visit your doc to have everything checked out. When was the last time you had an actual physical and bloodwork done for general health (not just the muscle disorder)? Maybe it's time and that will also guide you. Welcome to FJ! Beverly

Ditto to what the others have said. In addition:

I've always been told to not weigh myself everyday because of fluctuations like that (although from a psychological stand point people caution against daily weighing when you're trying to lose so you don't get disheartened when it fluctuates up instead of down). Clothing can make a big difference with weigh-ins as well.

Therefore, I always weigh myself on the same day (once a week), around the same time, and in the same clothes. I figure that gives me the most accurate information as to how I'm really doing.
