Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping someone out there in the big world can help me! I've just commenced running (2 - 3km per session) BUT I'm finding that during the night one of my calves will cramp quite serverly. The cramp goes away eventually, but then I'm left with a massive knot in the middle of my calf for the following 3 - 4 days which makes it very difficult to even walk. NO matter how much massage or stretching or heat or muscle relaxant cream will do anything. The knot will just disappear when it feels like it. So really, my muscle is just constantly contracted. As you can imagine, this puts quite a dint in the routine.
I've had ultrasounds on my calves to see if there were clots or varicous veins... but nothing!
I'm wondering if anyone out there experiences similar problems or has a solution for me?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Liv |

A few suggestions, from things I've heard or read:
Water, drink lots. Potassium, eat bananas and/or get some in pill form. Calcium before bedtime, glass of milk, yogurt or pill form.
