Hey Alison -
I hope they have big red arrows on the bouy's to tell you to go around the left or the right side.
This is especially more difficult for you than it is for me....
That's bacuase I get to follow everyone, when you're in 1st on the swim, all the pressure is on you to lead the way.

neoprene cap and ear plugs for sure...you're a studette for swimming in water that cold...down here we are talking about open water swim and the water in the bay is about 56...that's tropical compared to your 40 something....I've decided that the pool looks pretty nice still!! The race course does look beautiful though!
Best of luck, can't wait to read your race report once you thaw out!
Thought for the day...does becoming an ice cube while swimming add to your bouyancy? |

40 something degrees, 56 degrees, that's madness! I get cold when the water is below 80. Good luck Alison! Can't wait to hear the race report from this crazy swim! |

Ha Ha Ho Hehe Hooooooo!
What a spagetti swim course! I can see swimmers colliding on the out and back at various points, getting strung up on the dock, sneaking into the race around the docks, etc.
I have done everything from surface under a buoy to missing it on both sides by as much as 100 yards (nice when you are on the inside and illegally shaving time).
