Any suggestions on rain gear for running? I'm not concerned about speed but staying dry whilst still getting out there. Thought maybe you guys would have some input. I haven't looked into it yet but decided today it's time. Thanks! Beverly |

One word, or is it two?? Gore-Tex.
Waterproof and breathable. I use it for mountaineering, running or just banging around town.
Also Frank Shorter claims to have a better product (don't they all!!) e-vent. It can be found at www.nationalrunningcenter.com
Personally, I'd put my money on old faithful, Gore-Tex. Only problem is they don't give it away!!

Hi Beverly - I will second Todd's vote. I have used all sorts of other materials from Marmot, Columbia, TNF, etc.
While these products all kept the water out, I ended up soaking wet. And I mean drenched - Wet. I mayge saved more than a few bucks, but it was NOT worth it.
I'd go with Gore-Tex, I have yet to find another material that can equal it, although they all claim breathability.
Any one else??

I love gore-tex too (this is definitely an item where paying more is worth it)...more for cycling in the rain...I'm a run in the rain kinda girl...if it's too cold to run in the rain I drink a beer instead!!! |

Update: I bought gore-tex pants and a jacket at Bass Pro Shop and was happy with the price I paid. |

Gore tex or go home. Seriously its the best I would bike in the rain and the cheap suits you end up soaked with sweat.. |

Performance Bike is mostly a biking store, but you can cross over some gear for running. One of the best places (price wise) is Sierra Trading Post. They sometimes have great deals, but the inventory is hit and miss. Both have online stores. JC1.5 |
