I am new to running and I have a question on stride.
I know about keeping my back straight, arms pumping, but how do I know if my stride is to heavy. As I am building my miles, I sometimes feel pain in my shins, sometimes I am fine. I usually run the same route, so I am confused about the shin pain. My shoes are Reebok Trinity Fusions.

Rick, check out Jeff Galloway's 'book on running.' Experiment too by paying attention to what you do on each run and the resulting shin pain...log it. Hope this helps. |

Beverly, thanks for the information. I ordered Jeff's book Running getting started. While I am waiting for it to arrive, I got Bill Rodgers book "The Complete Idiots Guide to Running" both should help me.
Thanks again |
