Curious what you runners out there think about running shoe mileage. I've got almost 318 miles on one pair. Still feel ok but not as great as they used to feel. Time for a change? Thanks!

300-500 depending on the shoe...now sounds like a good time to start slowly breaking in another pair!!

I change shoes out every 300 miles. It may cost you a little more but i rather spend a little extra and save my knees. Shoes break down fast after 250-300 miles. I don't run in the old pair at all after i buy my new pair.

Beverly,

You might contact the manufacturer and ask them what the shoes are rated for.

I'll use a pair 5-600 but after 400 I start cutting back on the miles I run in them. After 5 I will use them for easy 3 miles or just walking.

Intresting, I have 160 on my new shoes and wondered how long I have. Nice read.

Cool Running suggests that you rotate in a new pair halfway through the life of your present pair, or around 200 miles. The materials in new shoes do break down, but it's not always visible. They say that when you start to notice a big difference between the two, it's time to toss the older pair. Runner weight, conditions and running surface can affect how long an individual pair will last.

Yeah it's time for new shoes. A good pair of running shoes lasts about 300 miles.
