I am trying to get back to running and even just a few hundred yards hurts my hamstring. I cycle - yesterday did a 31 miles tour, and no problem. When I Stretch I see that one side is more limber than the other - Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?

My doc is against running so he's no help, but I am considering going to a physical therapist - however after reading the posts here - I think I'll get more "real world" words of wisdom.

A few random thoughts Dru:

1) Get a new doc

2) Check in w/ a physical therapist

3) Warm up slowly for workouts and stretch after

4) Use a roller under your hamstring (works like a rolling pin)
