I'm prevented from running because of a bad knee. Today, Nov 5, for the first time, I rode my bike to the nearby Mystic River in Connecticut and watched 560 runners compete In the Tarzan Brown Road race. This race has become somewhat of a local legend and has been run for years. The 5+ mi. race this year was held in pretty brisk weather, I doubt if the temperature ever climbed much above 40 deg F. and the wind had a bit of bite to it.
Spectators, like myself, probably felt the chill a little more. Each runner had beads of sweat as they approached the finish. I was totally amazed and have gained an immense amount of respect for each participant's dedication, training and performance.
I certainly will be back next year. |

Bill, I hope your knee heals and you are running again soon. However, the bike is not a bad way to stay in shape either. |
