I'm looking for some instruction on how to do aqua jogging if anyone knows. I've broken the little toe on my left foot, and I'm trying to do something to maintain some level of running fitness over the next few weeks while it heals. (I'm hoping that the Dr. will give me permission to do aqua jogging and maybe the elliptical machine.) My pool has a deep-end and floatation belts, but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing out there. Any advice?
Very unfortunate timing for an injury as the IM Florida schedule really ramps up this month. I'm still permitted to swim and bike, so that is something. . .
Thanks for any tips! |

This might help *UVA Medical Center health website - always has good stuff)...sounds like a great rehab exercise. When I have seen others do it at our "Y" they do mini laps...from just where they can no longer touch bottom to the end of the lane and back in a circular "lap" fashion. (make sense?) I'm not injured but have thought about adding it to my routine for variety - I'm mostly a swimmer, but trying to pick up on running.
Best of luck - please let me know how it goes!

Thanks for the website Steph! It was very helpful. I've been aqua jogging and using the elliptical machine, and I'm going to try to run for the first time tonight. We'll see how it goes! |
