Hi All-
I am wondering if anyone has had coaching expirence from Carmichael?? I am considering working with them as I am a 'new' athlete and am hypoglycemic... I find that many of the gels and electrolyte drinks actually don't actually help me while training, so I am considering some conbination of Coaching and Nutritional Analysis... anyone have comments?? THANKS!

Do you have his book? I was considering the training myself. I think they also have an online program. The book, FOOD FOR FUEL, has really helped me. I'm really interested in the responses you get. I've not been tested as hypoglycemic but I know I just do not handle sugar well so I haven't really eaten any for 5 years now. Do you have a Carmichael coaching office there? I'm excited for you! Hi Neighbor
A couple of years ago I enrolled in the Carmichael training program at one of the middle levels and really enjoyed having someone else set up my training schedule. I had one "coach" for several month and started getting like a coach a week. I began following the program in his book and decided to drop the coach and go with the book. Then I hooked up with Dr. Max Testa at UCD and will never go to anyone else. Wheter you are formally in his program or rcieve periodic testing from him, he is alway open to your questions and he truely cares about you. Even though he and his partner Eric Heiden are setting up a new shop in Utah, I understand, from Eric, that Max is still taking new patients and will be in Sacramento one week a month.
I would definately take advantage of having one of the truely great coaches in our own backyard,
