I have never heard of a RP in the 30's. I dream of getting mine in the upper 50's again. What does downsize your running mean? I would heed the advice given above. Listen to your doctor. What good is a PR if you die of a heart attack doing it?

I'm with all the other replies here. Talk with your doctor, and find a way to work WITH him to get physical exercise in some way. Working AGAINST him is foolish. To me, the ultimate purpose of running or any other sport is to be healthier. Being healthier then results in feeling better. There are many things we can do to make ourselves feel great, but many of them aren't in the best interests of our physical well-being. The end result is that we feel worse. Of course, if you are dead, you can't feel at all. Bottom line: don't go against your doctor.
