How cold is cold? Your lungs will not receive cold air because it will be warmed by the time it gets there. The temps I am talking about are in the teens degree F and above. However, I would listen to your doctor if you are suceptible to bronchitis. Run indoors during the coldest days or wear a face mask. I have not run in temps below 10 degrees.

Gary PLEASE!!! You are in AR how cold does it really get there? Just kidding ;-)

I use a hat that comes down around my face when I run outside. It is adjustable so if I get over heated I can loosen it up to get some fresh air for a bit. I have athsma, so I need to be careful about outside temps when I run. I don't know what the brand of my hat is, but I got it at Fleet-Farm. I think you could get one at any sporting store.

As far as getting Bronchitis from the cold weather, I would not totally agree. It has more to do with you being exposed to the germs than being in the cold.

Good luck with your running, and...

KEEP MOVING!!!

2 miles you could run naked in sub zero and not freeze. :)

Just FYI, Acute Bronchitis is not necessarily caused by germs or infection, although 90% of the time it is. It is simply an inflamation of the bronchial passages and can also be caused by industrial pollution or cold air in sensitive people.

Breathing through your nose, instead of your mouth will help to warm and humidify the air before it gets to your lungs. In really cold weather, I also wear a fleece neck warmer pulled up over my face.

It was about 15 degrees above zero this morning during my run and my hat kept me perfectly warm. It is a fleece hat that comes down around the neck and you can pull it up over the mouth.

Good luck... & KEEP MOVING!!!!
