I'm a beginning runner, I just ran my first 5k, but plan to continue improving my fitness level. I'd like to get a HRM but as with most gadgets, it seems a lot of them have a bunch of features I'll never use. Also I have very small wrists, 5 1/2" around where the watch would lie. It would be nice to have something above just the heart rate feature, but I don't want to spend a fortune. Any suggestions? |

Hi Beth, welcome to running and congrats on your 5k! If mostly want a hrm, check out the polar F11 or (I think, F6). They come in women's models. Also, I got mine (S625x) from www.heartratemonitors.com Jason was my contact and I found him to be very helpful. He answered lots of questions for me. The S625x is supposedly unisex but I am on the 2nd to last hole in the band (closer in) but it does fit (my concern also). I hope this helps! Beverly |

Hi Beth,
Nike makes a women's specific HRM called the Imara. I have one and have pretty small wrists and it's pretty nice. The chest strap is also compatible with the cardio equipment at my health club. It's $99 and has all the basic functions.
Good luck!
