Welcome Kerri,
I have been using FJ for almost 2 years now and I love it. I love the features and I love the people. Just recently while doing the Ironman Florida, a few of us got together, met face to face, and discussed our race. With the new FJ support vehicle rolling out in 2007, it will be a great gathering place for FJ'ers to meet up and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with the online community.
As far as the features, I like to see how many calories I have burned and it motivates me to stay consistent in my training which has ALWAYS been a problem. I get excited after a work out knowing that I get to log my results into FJ and compare them with my friends and against the top 250 folks. I am with you about counting calories that I have consumed (just don't have time) but I do list what I eat so I can be aware of what I am putting in my body. Finally, you can get some great tips on the discussion boards about products, exercises, events, and motivation. Plus, you get to see some action photos of your fellow FJ'ers on the calendar. =)
In regards to your concern about printing the food journal, you can always go back and look at previous days entries so they are always there in an electronic format. However, if you just have to print it out for some reason,(good for taking to a nutritionist to review) you can always pull up a day and click on the "File" in your toolbar at the top left hand side of your screen. Change the margins and check the print preview, then click on print. This will give you a copy of the actual Daily Food Entry screen. Punch three holes in it and keep it in a binder and WHALA you have a printed version.
Hope that helps.
Jim
