Hey good job on the brick, Steve! They're tough, aren't they? Practice is what makes the legs feel better, and I promise it will get easier! I never get off the bike thinking that I WANT to run, but after a few minutes, they loosen up, like you experienced. I have in the past used the last few miles or minutes on the bike to do some stretching out of my hamstrings and calves so they don't feel *quite* so bad. Keep it up, and it'll be no problem come race day with all the adrenine pumping. So in my opinion, brick workouts make brick workouts easier!!

I concur with Joy. Also, try getting out of the saddle the last mile or so to get the blood flowing and simulate running before you get off the bike. Also, take small shuffle steps to begin with until you get your "running legs" under you. |
