You just keep doing what you can, Ms. Suzi! Track it and you'll see the progress! You're not anyone else; you are you. Some people say they have to work through the initial pain then it gets better on their walks. I've read that for some it takes a while for the body [joints] to build up strength to feel better too. We are all so different and comparing oneself to another is detrimental. Track your progress and honestly challenge yourself. It's your personal journey and your path is different than anyone else's. Now enjoy it by focusing on what you can do! (Did that help?)

Suzi,

The Polar F11 should also be compatible with your treadmill. In other words, just put on the the transmitter strap and watch and the F11 will read your treadmill. I have found my F11 is pretty accurate with my Fitness Center's treadmills.

Have you had a stress test done under doctor's supervision? I would do one in your situation.

I agree with Beverly. Work at your own pace. Each step forward is progress. We are not striving for perfection. Set small goals. Maybe use a pedometer to measure your steps taken in a given day. There are other means of cardio that do not require running. Using light weights with multiple reps can also improve your cardio.

Most of all, I am proud of you for trying. Your determination makes me work that much harder.

DO NOT GIVE UP! You can do this.

Hey Suzi,

I have knee troubles as well. What I find really helps me is weight training and lunges. I hate lunges like the plague. But they help to build up the supporting muceles around the knee joints. Give it ago.

Regards, Merrilee

p.s. you can do them at home.
