Hi Chris,

This is your Dad here again. Gotta new one for ya! Last night I went to a new fangled class down at the Wellness Center. They just got in a new load of BOSU balls and have started up a class to show old folks like me how to use 'em. They call this new class 'Cardio Bosu'. No, that's not the BOZO Class, I said it was BOSU. This new toy looks like a regular exercize ball that they've had in the Aerobics Room for years, only it's flat on one side so it don't roll around on the floor like them other balls do. It also weighs a bit more and has little rubber pads on the bottom to help the thing stay put whilst you're using it. The first trick is to learn how to stand up on top of the dern thing! You find out real fast that it bounces you around a bit and you gotta find your balance point right quick or it'll toss you back off onto the floor in nothin' flat. Once you kinda get the hang of it, you can bounce around kind like you do on that big trampoline you got out in your back yard. But Heather, our instructor, wasn't about to let us have that much fun. She started in with some of them same routines we do on them steps, you know like 'step taps' and 'alternating kicks' and 'charleston' and them murderous 'lunges'. I'm tellin ya, it's a dern site harder to do them things on one of those BOSU balls. They say it adds a good measure of balance training, but I couldn't testify to that 'cause I spent most of my time fallin' off the dern thing. I was pretty tired out after our 45 minute class . . .a lot more so than with a regular aerobics class. So, here's my question: How do I log this in on my workout schedule? I guess you need to add a Cardio BOSU section to your sport activities categories. I'm a bit surprised that you folks out there in CALIFORNIA hadn't heard of these BOSU things yet. Yer usually on the "cuttin' edge" of crazy stuff like that.

Well, that's it for now. Mother says to say hello and that we're lookin' forward to our trip out to Sonoma to see you and the kids next week. Can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving already.

Love, Grampy
