Today Pat, Brian and I went out on a ride on a ridge overlooking the lake. Tire problems from a few days ago are resolved and chalked up to a pinched tube. The temp change from the lake to the top of the ridge is remarkable. We leave the lake at 86F degrees and reach the ridge at 101F +.
The mountain roads are well cared for and offer comfortable climbs and thrilling decents that twist and turn like a rollercoaster. There is not a significant amount of traffic. The only truly scary traffic might be the logging trucks that always seem to go on longer than they should when passing.
The afternoon brought a quick change in weather as a far off thunderstorm sucked all the hot air up and over the camp, turning a normally dry climate into something that reminds me of humid tropical tradewinds in the pacific. We were rewarded with an amazing sunset over the lake at the end of the day.
