Today was spent snokeling in the cold water at Union Valley, and cycling up and around part of the lake.
The bottom of the lake is covered in boulders and submerged tree trunks which are great for hiding fish and holding fishing tackle hostage. I spent a good hour collecting handfuls of fishing tackle that were caught in the rocks and trees. The water had three different temperture layers between the surface and 30 feet, which is as deep as I was free diving. There are also some moster fish that live in the lake, darting in and out of their well protected hiding places.
Brian and I set out for a ride around the lake. Our ride was cut short by a series of flats. I had just installed new tubes and tires on my road bike before I left. After one full flat and a leaking spare tube, we decided to call it a day and head back to the camp to drink. We will try this ride again in the next fews days. There are some great rides in this area.

Nice Chris -
Hey you didn't happen to fine a Copper Needle Fish with a Red stripe? It was attached to some Ford Fender Flashers as well. I think I left it up there last time I fished the lake. :o)

Love the blue tires... =)
I had to come back and edit this because it did not "sound" right even though I was talking about the trees and sky. HAHAHAHAHA

Brian came up with a new discussion board category. Peak Bagging. We should start a section that contains pictures at the tops of peaks, be it cycling, running, hiking, climbing, etc. As an example, here is a picture of Brian Perkins (FJ Member since 2006) standing at the top of Crystal Basin ridge

Yes! I'm doing the "Two Peaks" ride tomorrow (Seymour & Cypress) so I'm all over this. Although that means I need to bring a camera ... |
