For anyone interested in Volksmarching, 10K walks or just great walks around NYC....there are a bunch of walks in NYC sponsored by the Princeton Area Walkers that have designated and laid out walks through various great NYC locations including Central Park, Downtown Harbour NYC, The Village/Chinatown/LittleItaly/Soho, etc, and Midtown (4 walks that are 10K+).
In fact there are tons of walks just like these across the US or in various parts of the world. These events can focus on cycling (much longer distances than 10K)or for the most part walking. Some of the events in other locations or in Europe even focus on other distance sporting activities.
If interested in more info..look on the AVA site or Princeton Area Walkers for more contact info on the NYC ones. These can be done at your own pace or even as a power walk etc.
I did one of the 10K events in NYC this past weekend and enjoyed it a lot. Good exercise and lots of fun.

I'd like to thank everyone for their input on Volksmarching. I looked up the internet site and was amazed that there is a chapter/club in my area! This sounds like great fun and I plan to look up some of their events in the future to participate. Thanks again for sharing! |
