I'm shooting for Albuquerque on August 31st. Was going to do the Zooma Annapolis and Sonoma halfs as training/benchmarking races, but got thrown from my horse, leading to 4 weeks of downtime and didn't get into Sonoma, so need to find alternate halfs to do along the way, but still planning the marathon (it will be my 9th, I think).

Seema,

If I can get my back better and still have some time to train, I'll try the White Rock Marathon in December again. If the Lord gets me through it, it will be my 3rd. I don't expect I'll ever catch up with you though. My goal is to finish under 6 hours and to not cramp up around the half way mark.

Hi Seema! I am so excited because I got into the Marine Corps Marathon in October! I can't wait. Just did Whidbey Island Marathon in April and will do a half here locally but that is about it for organized runs. I have run the half in Napa/Sonoma. It was gorgeous put it on for next year - you will love it. It was hilly.

Enjoy your running! I love to talk about it so write if you want.

Being in Oregon, have you ever done the hippie chick half marathon? I did that one in 2005 as part of my 13 half marathons in 13 months insanity. I liked it a lot and would recommend it. If anyone has recommendations for a July 1/2 marathon, give a shout

Yes! I ran Hippie Chick last year! Great fun. There is a half here on the 4th of July called the Sauvie Island Marathon and Half Marathon. That is an incredibly flat course and you could do an awesome time. Also, strawberry shortcake at the finish. Pretty place just outside of Portland. If you want to travel that far - looks like you don't mind traveling!

Doing Marine Corp, San Antonio and Dallas to close out the year.

Suggestions for H/M's in July - Joker's Wild in St. Louis 7/5, Presque Isle Half Marathon 7/20 in Erie, PA and the NYC Half is 7/27...not too far from ya!

Ryan,

Are those three within a three month span? If so, that would qualify you for a bronze level Marathon Maniac status. Check them out at www.marathonmaniacs.com. They are a crazy, fun group started here in Washington. My marathon for the year will by on my attempt of The Grand Columbian Ironman in Grand Coulee, WA. Got nervous just typing that!

Marathon Maniacs is an understatement! What level are you? I can't imagine getting to the TITANIUM LEVEL.

1. 52 Marathons or more in one calendar year.

2. 30 Marathons in 30 US states, Countries, or Canadian Provinces (any combination) in 1 calendar year.

3. 20 Countries in one calendar year.

Good grief, that's awesome!

Hey Nadine!

Rock on! I grew up in the area, but have never run it. Is it your first time? Except for the first few miles up hill, it looks pretty fast. I am pretty pumped for it with family and good friends in the area. Are you shooting for a PR?

Ryan - This is my very first time. I don't re-run any marathons, there are so many I would rather run a course only once and then move on. :-) I always hope for a personal best but at this time in my life (just turned 49) I am thankful to finish!! I have tweaked my training and had a personal best in Whidbey Island on a very hilly course, so if the Marine Corps Marathon is flatter who knows!! :-) We have family there and friends coming up from North Carolina - it will be fun. Besides I have never been to WA DC.

Ryan - I am a one star bronze level. I did 3 in 3 months. I thought I would be content with the bronze level, but now I am considering trying for the four star iridium level by doing 2 in 48 hours. I'll go really slow and easy. They don't care how fast you do them, just have to finish!
