I ran a marathon (Chicago) in 2002 and have kept running approximately 20 miles per week since then. I am ready to attempt another and I am thinking of Big Sur in California on April 29th (I think this is correct) and Chicago in October. I am debating if I should run Big Sur as a half marathon or if I do all the training will I be disappointed in only doing half? Something I have to work through. Since I have never been to an event where they run a half-marathon and marathon consecutively - what happens if you sign up for half and run the full? |

Hi Laura! If you sign up for a half you can usually 'upgrade' to the full at the expo prior to the event. As to half vs. whole (mind you I've not done either...half will happen this Sunday) I'd say listen to your body. If you feel ready and capable and have the time to devote to training, do the whole. Just my thoughts! Beverly |

Big Sur half is full, but the marathon is still open for registration. This is a popular event, and every bit worth running, but you definitely have to be Johnny on the spot to get in it. |
