To all you experienced marathoners I would like to ask a question about training. I've only done 1 and am in the process of training for number 2. If I wanted to not slug my way through the difficulty of training from scratch each year, what would be the minimum / maximum of weekly miles would I need to do in order to just polish up on some runs to finish a marathon.
I am on average when not training for a marathon running 20 - 25 (9 - 10 on the weekend) miles a week and have finished a half marathon without really training. I know I won't set any records because I will never be fast but I didn't know if I was able to say run consistently 15 miles on the weekend, I would be able to train for a marathon for about 6 weeks instead of 20 - 26.
If it's not feasible I would understand. I'm just kind of new to this event and get curious about things.
Thanks |
