My name is Danielle Siler and I am writing today in hopes of rounding up a few people to help out with a challenging and powerful cause - the fight against cancer.

This will be my third year participating in the Livestrong Challenge for the LAF. Each year has become more and more special as I have found strength within myself to overcome my weaknesses and push through to the finish. This event has made me believe in myself and most importantly, it has made me believe that we all can do our part in helping to find a cure.

This year has become even more important to me than ever before. Three weeks ago, my mother was told that she has cervical cancer. She has undergone a full hysterectomy and will continue to fight the cancer with chemo. I have participated in the Livestrong Challenge before without any personal affliction to myself, family or friends. Now, I am faced with the same fight that I have so eagerly stood behind. So, I ask that if you have ever been affected personally, whether it is through family or friends, please take a minute to consider what you can do to join the fight...

So, I ask you to please do not overlook this urgent matter.

Congratulations for riding for such a great cause.

However, next time if you close your water bottle lid you won't have to wear your hood to stay dry when lifting your bike over your head!!
