If anyone wants to try a short adventure race, I just found the Coosa River Challenge in Wetumpka, AL. It is outside of Montgomery. Check out their website at www.coosariverchallenge.com
We may try it as a team but have to purchase mountain bikes. It is relatively short for an adventure race but sounds like a lot of fun. |

5 hours and 15 minutes of blood, sweat, and gears (literally) but owe what fun we had. The AR was great and the scenery and weather were perfect. The running trails had some decent hills and descents with some switchbacks thrown in. The ride was a little hairy with 90% of it on single track through the woods. The rappel was AWESOME and the kayak down river was fun and refreshing especially when we flipped in the class 3 rapids. Let's not forget the 20 foot jump off the locke back into the river and the last mile run to the finish, plus ALL the "challenges" along the entire course. With scrapes, bruises, aches and pains the exhaustion was tremendous but the next day we were searching for our next Adventure Race. Try it out if you want to spend a day active and in the woods. |
